Frequently asked questions.
What is ABA Therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science-based approach that helps children build skills for daily life. At Post Oak, ABA means using play, encouragement, and everyday routines to teach communication, social skills, independence, and flexibility. Many families searching for autism help or behavior support in Round Rock and the greater Austin area find ABA therapy to be an effective, family-centered approach.
How can Post Oak help my child with autism?
We provide individualized ABA therapy designed to support your child’s growth in communication, social skills, independence, and flexibility. Families often come to us looking for autism help that feels practical and compassionate, or behavior help that makes everyday routines easier. Our autism services are play-based, family-led, and available to families in Round Rock, Georgetown, Williamson County, and surrounding Austin communities.
What services do you provide?
We provide in-home, play-based ABA therapy, parent education, and community-based support. Our autism services include autism help and behavior support tailored to each child’s strengths and family goals. This can include help with communication, daily living routines, flexibility, and independence.
Do you only work with children?
Yes. Our focus is on helping autistic children and their families. Whether you are seeking autism help, behavior help, or family-centered autism support, we partner with caregivers, siblings, and extended family to make sure the whole family feels supported.
What makes Post Oak different?
We are a small, family-led practice founded by two BCBAs who are also parents. Our values—Joy, Family, Connection, Flexibility, and Quality—guide everything we do. Families often choose Post Oak because they want autism help and behavior support that feels personal, not corporate. We are rooted in the Round Rock and Austin community and committed to ethical, relationship-based practice.
Do you accept insurance?
Coming soon! We are actively becoming credentialed with several major insurance providers in Texas. If we are not yet in-network with your plan, we’ll guide you through next steps and discuss private-pay options. Families looking for autism help or behavior support can also begin with private-pay consultation and coaching while waiting for insurance approval.
Do you require a diagnosis to start services?
Most insurance plans require a formal autism diagnosis to cover ABA therapy. If you are still in the process of getting one, we can connect you with trusted local providers who complete evaluations in Round Rock, Austin, and Williamson County. For families seeking autism support right away, we also offer private-pay consultation and coaching services that provide behavior help without requiring a diagnosis.
How do you set goals?
We partner with your child and family, learning about their strengths, interests, and needs. Together, we create goals that improve your child’s daily life—such as growing communication, flexibility, independence, and supporting behavior. Our family-centered ABA approach ensures that your child’s autism services align with what matters most to your family.
Do parents participate in sessions?
Yes! We wouldn’t want it any other way. Caregiver involvement is central to our approach because children make the most progress when families are actively included. We provide hands-on coaching and guidance so parents feel confident teaching skills and using behavior support strategies outside of sessions, in the moments that matter most.
What are your hours?
Our session blocks are available between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. This flexible schedule allows us to tailor therapy times around your child’s needs while keeping your family’s daily routines in mind. Families in Round Rock, Georgetown, and the greater Austin area can access in-home ABA therapy that works within their lifestyle.
How do I start services?
